Ivory
These are images of the jewellery that I make from Ivory Piano Key tops. The technique is called scrimshaw. The picture is drawn in pencil first, then the drawing is scratched into the ivory. Once the lines have been scratched in, India Black ink is applied to the ivory and wiped off. Lines are scratched and inked until the image is complete. Then the ivory is sanded, rubbed with neutral beeswax or conservators' wax, and polished.
Most of these pieces are brooches, but there are also pendants and earrings.

More ivory pieces, in combination with beading.
Beadwork
Most of these pieces are created using the peyote bead weaving technique, but I also work in copper, leather, anad other bits and pieces that I add to them.
